Sunrise Sunset Challenge

I walked everyday at sunrise and sunset and here is what happened…

Inspired my time camping in the desert, walking in the early morning to warm my body, connect to nature and merge with the changing colors of the sky - I learned something. I noticed right away, the dynamic nature of these times of day; the quickness of fleeting and growing light, the scampers of playful wildlife, a long stare from a waking bird. Visually and energetically it is an amazing time to be present with ourselves and nature. There, I felt the activation the sun has on our bodies and the earth.

With this experience I gave myself the Sunrise, Sunset Challenge! To walk each day for a minimum of 10 minutes in the mornings and evenings.

What happened After week 1:

  • Quality of my sleep improved dramatically

  • Balanced mood

  • Energy levels improved (more even throughout the day)

  • Stress levels reduced

What happened After week 2:

  • Best sleep of my life

  • Naturally waking with sunrise (body energized)

  • Increased creativity

  • Better, easeful digestion

  • Increase in happiness and presence throughout the day

  • Higher, yet stable energy levels

  • Stronger & balanced nervous system (easily handling stress)

  • Grounded and energetically clearer

  • Physically stronger and able to walk/run farther

This simple choice of devoting time to myself, outside, was an act of cyclical integration to the natural way of being. Our bodies were meant to align with nature and engaging with sunrise and sunset is an effective way to do so. With such a powerful impact and simple action, I will continue this practice in my life… I invite you to join the challenge!
